Service Description
This integrated and comprehensive course designed for those who professionally involved seeking for a career path, and for serious hobbyists skills improvement. Phase 1 Topics: Sawing, piercing, filing, sanding Annealing and soldering techniques Basic stone setting Texturing, stamping and forming metal Ring, pendant, earring construction Finishing and polishing Phase 2 topics: Wax carving & lost Wax casting Enameling (cloisonne, champlevé, etc) optional Granulation & mixed metal multimedia jewelry Advanced stone setting (faceted stone setting, flushing setting, prong setting, double wall bezel setting, pave) creative stone setting Class layout Each class students required to learn and finish at least one piece of jewelry with specific technics. First 3-6 weeks are crucial, students will learn all the metal smith basic skills, practice until that the skills can be applied onto work efficiently. Second 3-6 weeks class focus on jewelry fabrication, building all settings from scratch. Practicing faceted stone setting skills, and fabricate specific style jewelry with required tectonics and skills. Last week class focus on jewelry restoration and repairs. Jewelry history, gemstone studies, pearls and beads work threading. This curriculum is assembled based on full time commitment, class duration varies depending on students availability, minimum 2 lessons a week is required.
